The Blaze website reports today (March 12, 2012) that "Liberal Ladies Who Lunch" -- a women's group -- is organizing an unusual event, which it is calling "Access Denied: Sex Strike."
The event -- which is scheduled to take place between April 28 and May 5 -- features a poster of a woman's legs taped together above the knees that says, "If our reproductive choices are denied, so are yours."
The women's group describes its views on the event's Facebook page, saying, "In truth, if we lose our hard won rights to medical care, birth control, and pregnancy choice it won't only affect women. Men will have to go back to the days when they waited for or paid for sex."
The group also provides a history of "sex strikes," beginning with ancient Greece, where in the play "Lysistrata" the women of Greece go on a sex strike, which has a significant impact in ending the decades-long Peloponnesian War.
