Twelve Killed Today in Quran-Burning Protests; Eight Killed Yesterday Despite Obama's Apology

The Daily Beast website reports that at least 12 more people were killed today (February 24, 2012) in Afghanistan, as the outrage over the burning of Qurans in that country by American troops continues.

Protesters gathered in Kabul today for the fourth day, with hundreds marching to the palace of President Hamid Karzai.

The rallies turned violent yesterday, leaving at least eight people dead, including two U.S. soldiers.

President Obama apologized to the Afghan people in a letter yesterday, but crowds of Afghans are unconvinced, as protests have spread across the country.
